Lost School Trip and Animal Buddies

Hi everybodeeey. How's everything? Although I think those of you who read the previous post may remember that I said my summer was almost over, NO WAY, I was totally wrong! The summer heat is still continuing here. Maybe this abnormal weather is because of global warming!? If that's the case, I'm kind of afraid. How will our Earth be going?? Anyhow therefore, also both my simple/effortless bentos and no bento days still continue hehehe. Actually I'm anxious if food in a bento bako can keep fresh until lunch time. Of course chocolate ice cream is still a must to me. Listen, this summer is the record intense heat for the first time in 113 years in Japan. I mean, everyone in Japan has been going through The HOTTEST SUMMER in 113 years, can you believe it?? I can't! Okay I'll stop complaining and making excuses now. I'll get down to the subject. Today Yuppi was going on a school trip to the park in a suburb, but it was cancelled due to rain. The students will have lunch in the crassrooms instead of on a field. This bento has lots of fruit because I could not get up so early, sigh. In fact I meant to make more dishes for this, though. The other bentos are ones I made the other days.

Nori ben, fried chicken, fried sweet potato flowers, a half of boiled egg, Kitty shaped cheeses, cherry tomatoes, an edamane skewer, cut fruit.



Oyako don (egg and chicken, white rice)



Simple chahan, dice salad (cucumber, carrot, potato, corn).



Now, as I mentioned before, let me show you the rest of animal pictures. A while back we went to the lakeside where there was a teeny tiny zoo nearby. They only had a pony, some of goats and sheep, and alot of rabbits. I hope ya'll enjoy these pics.

Effortless Bentos and Lake Outing

Hey buddies! How is it where you are? Still hot? or cold? I guess my summer is almost over, but it's NOT getting any cooler, so I've still eaten chocolate ice cream persistently and been dragging.  Also my effortless bentos still continue....haha. The first bento is Curry fried rice, the second is... what do you think it is?? If you guess what bento it is, I'll give you my special bento...hehe just joking! If I could do that for real, wouldn't it be so nice huh? Imagine that some food pops out from a blog. If blogs like that were anywhere, how fun!? But instead, it's so scary LOL! Well, the third is my favorite rice dish, Salmon/cuke chirashi. All of these bentos are super easy to make and pack, yey.

In the meantime, we went on an outing to the suburb this past weekend. It was not too hot, but pleasant weather there. I'll post the rest of the animal pics on the next post! Stay tuned.

Summery Bentos and Fireworks Display

Hey there. Are you bentoing!? As for me... aaah a little bit hehe. It's still too muggy where I live. And it couldn't be any more tiring to cook something in a too hot kitchen without A/C. Everyday, I do find myself grabbing a chocolate ice cream cup from the freezer haha. I know that some of you cannot resist COLD BEER on such hot days lol.  Oh well, on a muggy day, a simple bento and a noodle bento are *eater-friendly* right? So I recently made bibimbap (Korean style rice dish) and curry flavored fried udon for bento. Curry flavor is always appetizing even during the hot summer!







The other day, we went to a fireworks display in the bay area. Lots of fireworks events are held everywhere in Japan during summer. Watching spectacular fireworks displays is meaningful to most Japanese. It seems like the symbol of peace, happiness, and midsummer. I feel even Japanese spirit, though I usually don't feel this way. I think people who come watch fireworks enjoy not only fantastic ones but the atmosphere there as well. Of course I was sooo excited, too, like a kid.



We had some time until the fireworks displays going off, so we had a tea break at my favorite cake shop nearby. Their stuff is to die for. Great! I'll spill now, after this, we went to my fave ramen house and had Ramen, then went to a new gelato house.... I wonder, fireworks make us abnormally hungry!?
