Oh my! How long has it been since I declared that I'd be back to regular blogging soon? The computer, software, bento pictures and my new glasses. Everything is ready, really. However I've had a hard time sitting before the computer. So I nearly forgot how to write in English, haha! I think I must be back here as soon as possible before I totally forget English! Anyway unfortunately I don't have much time for babble now. I'll leave with some bentos, and will be back sometime soon.
Bibimbap rice, thermo jars of piping hot egg and wakame (seaweed) soup. Bibimbap --- carrot, spinach, pork, moyashi sprouts.
Meatballs, tomato omelet, sauteed kabocha squash, boiled broccoli.
Homemade white buns, slices of herb-grilled chicken, boiled eggs and veggies, and jars of hot veggie soup.
P.S.
Yuppi made most of the foods and I packed them. She has tried to make some money by making bentos. That's her job for now. There is a problem, can I complain?? She makes bento foods from scratch every morning without any prior prep. She gets totally exhausted after cooking and has no energy to do anything else. I have to do packing and the dishes instead, sigh. I hope that she can pull her weight soon and I can be comfortable and lazy having tea while she's working LOL!

Bento Pile Part 3
I know, you may be tired of my familiar bento posts, but it goes on for a while. So please be prepared, lol! It doesn't look like I can catch up with the bento pile. Oh well I hope to get all the stuff done and share pictures of something other than bentos as well like how I used to do. Maybe sometime soon!

Potato korokke bento.
Ramen salad bentos.

Bento Pile Part 2
My summer passed by so fast while I was struggling with my computer trouble. Now we are getting into the delicious autumn. Here I'm sitting and looking back over the bentos I made in the summer. I have enjoyed making a variety of bentos, thinking what foods I (or my fam) want to have in bento, or I should put in. At the same time, I have tried to see what type of photos I want to take or can take with the camera stuff I have on hand. My photography is minor-changing day by day because most of my photos are still not my type. I love bento pictures as much as real bentos. My little challenges and adventures will continue!
Chicken katsu (breaded chicken with sauce) and what you see.
A bowl of sekihan (sticky rice with sweet azuki beans) and some sidedishes.
Hotdog rice rolls and usual sidedishes.
I love making bread for bento. Sammies with pan-cooked English muffins are my favorite these days.
Slices of my special (just saying) terini chicken along with some vegetables. Dry curry along with boiled egg slices. Honey & butter which is hub's fave.
It's every time fun to think what to do on bread bentos with packaging for easy-eating and fancy-looking, huh?

Long Time No See!
I miss you all, and hope you all keep happy-bentoing and cooking. I'm finally back into the normal Internet environment wooo! It was such a long, winding road so far lol. Anyway, after some bumps and detours, I can play around with my pictures and new computer at last. I made lots and lots of bentos in the meantime and have tons of stuff to talk about. So I have no idea where to start lol, but here are some of bentos I made during the blog hiatus. It's so nice to be able to use a variety of fresh vegetables in bento since it's just the season here. We've been relishing those summer veggies every day.
Ebi mayo (shrimp with a bit sweet mayonnaise sauce), and what not.
This one is for me.
Omuraisu (ketchup-fried rice wrapped in a thin omelet) and summer veggie salad.
Pork and egg fried rice, and usual salad with homemade mayonnaise.
Two omusubi with okaka-ume in, karaage and a boiled egg.
Kimpap (Korean rolled rice, not Japanese makizushi).
Hiyashi ramen (cold ramen noodles with sweet, salty sour shoyu sauce).
There are a lot more bento pictures to share. I'm going to resume regular-blogging soon!

Computer Trouble and Tanabata Prep
Hi there! Actually my computer has sucked I haven't been able to see decent pictures on the screen. My bento pictures have been accumulated though! Also I am sorry that I don't respond to everyone's comments in a timely fashion. I'm going to be absent a bit longer, but will be back soon after getting a new comp (hopefully a much better one, haha), and then I will reply to the comments. Anyway thank you so much for always leaving encouraging comments!!
These are some of the bentos I made recently. Are you curious about what's in them?? I'll save it for the next time hehee.
In the meantime, Yuppi and I made tons of star cookies to pass out to her mates. Tanabata is coming soon! Speaking of stars... I hope my buddies in the US had (are having) a happy Independence Day!

Early Summer Flavor
So nice it's the iced latte season and cherries have started to come out at groceries. Latte is my everyday breakfast and dope at the moment!
These two bentos are a collaboration of Yuppi and me. I made terini chicken, Yuppi made chicken gratin and a tomato cheese omelet. Since she was in a bread mood she had some slices of baguette. After packing Hubs' rice, I realized that everything in the bento was bread-friendly, I mean, they go much better with bread than rice, oh poor hubby, lol!
For this one, I made chili pork (a pork version of chili shrimp), rough-cooked soft omelet to go with the pork, and toasted kamaboko with cheese on it.
We had Hubs' birthday last month. I baked a sponge cake for the first time in a while. Of course Yuppi decorated it. She loves piping cream on cake, but we needed some more whipped cream to dress up the sponge more neatly. Though, I think it turned out kind of cute, isn't it? Having enjoyed a huge variety of cakes and sweets since a kid, I find these days, nothing beats homemade ones. No matter if they don't look gorgeous or fancy. You know, you can pick out ingredients yourself and adjust them as you like. Once you get the hang it's not such a pain to make cake! Yes, the whole of these phrases go to myself lol! It always takes me some time to get off my butt.

Sakura Is Almost Over
Today's post has bentos Yuppi made herself. She hasn't needed bento lately, which actually keeps me not so motivated for bentomaking, but she sometimes needs a bento lunch for a field trip and such. This is her own first bento in forever. It seems like she's lost interest in cooking all around. Maybe she is hooked on something else, sigh. However, what's gotten into her, she suddenly decided to make her bento after such a long time. She made sesame tsukune, tamagoyaki and potato salad.
For this bento above, she made a shrimp fry sandwich and a chicken katsu sandwich. I think they are well made.
I finally got to take sakura pictures. Sadly sakura in our area is almost over... Since it was a bit of windy and I didn't have much time, I couldn't get good shots, but really liked these sakura, especially this one below. I saw this type for the first time, very delicate and sweet colors, can you see? Early-bloom types are already gone. That's a bummer, I should've gone ohanami earlier. My spring this year went by with surprising speed as I was comfortable eating ice cream lol! Happy June, everyone!!

Finally Spring
Hi there! It's been a whahhile! We finally got to get spring weather! Look. Narcissi and tulips this year came out rather later than usual. They are brightening up around my house right now.
This is my first hiyashi ramen in the season yay!
This bento was for Yuppi, but I say, it's one of ideal bentos to me. My kind, which means that there is pickled veggie, and no tomatoes or fresh green dividers in there. I actually want to put in those little red cuties and pretty, frilly lettuce, they surely jazz up bentos. However I don't really like to eat wilted raw greens next to rice. Me, big fussy eater, shame on me, hehe.
This morning I made Naporitan pasta with a simple omelette. I didn't have time to cook rice in the morning. Noodle stocks always help me out on a day like that. Ack! I accidentally put in tomatoes... I don't mind them in bentos for hubby and Yuppi, but this bento, I packed in a glass container so that hubby could microwave at work if he wanted. Hah I really hope he is not such a dumb as to explode tomatoes lol!
In the meantime, I've been really obsessed by ice cream lately. Not that I like any type of ice cream. Love Häagen-Dazs!! Wow it's already Friday here. Hope you enjoy your weekend with SCRUMPTIOUS ice cream, too!!
