Sandwich Bento and Chocolate Spread
Today's bentos are sandwich ones! Some of you may be aware that's rare. A bread lunch sounds not filling to me. I guess bread is easily digestible. But it's fun to have it for lunch at times and to make it as well huh? I only made a bacon omelet this morning. These bentos contain bacon-omelet sandwiches, chocolate ones, shrimp/chicken gratin (leftover from last night), lettuce & a bottle of dressing and seasonal fruits.
Do you like chocolate spread? I don't really want to buy store-bought ones because cheap kinds of them mostly contain a lot of trans fat. It's not good for your health if you take it very often. You could make one amazingly easily!
babykins' Chocolate Spread Recipe
1 bar chocolate (about 60 grams, or 2 ounces), your favorite kind
5 tablespoons condensed milk (sweetened)
1) Melt chocolate by double-boiling
2) Mix condensed milk into the melted chocolate, done!!
If you don't know how to double-boil feel free to ask me please.
Note: This chocolate spread will get hard after refrigerating like butter.
Wouldn't you like to try tasting?

Ooooh! Yes I know how to do that!
ReplyDeleteHave done it before. As soon as I get some chocolate I'll try this out!Thank you!
Does double boiling mean boiling it, have it cool down and then boil it again? And then afterwards should I put it in the fridge or leave it in my cupboard?
ReplyDeletehi Kuusou! I hope you like it. I'm going to share a kinako spread recipe sometime. Yep going to write a gratin recipe also ;)

ReplyDeleteJust looking at these carefully made sammies makes me feel warm and happy, Izumi! And I love the cheerful accent of the colorful baran. Thanks for sharing the chocolate spread recipe, how clever to make it at home and keep it simple and chemical-free.
ReplyDeleteAny signs of spring where you live? Best wishes from Jenn!
